I read a movie

I finished reading a movie yesterday night.

Well, a book really but it sure felt like I have just read a movie, and a bloody good movie too.

Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy, a hefty novel a few pages shy of 900 packed full of actions and gripping story line.

It's about anti-terrorists versus terrorists. The good guys were a bunch of special operation super agents which like nothing more than training, training, and more training everyday to keep them always at their peak.

The bad guys were bank robbers and extremists wanting to make a statement or demand, unknowingly manipulated by extremely rich and fanatic environmentalists.

The treehuggers ultimate goal was rather bone chilling, a massacre of such enormous magnitude that it boggled my mind just reading about it. Of course, like all extremists, their goal made perfect sense to them (and them alone). Those who didn't agree with their view or stood in their way would just, well, be taken care of in one way or another.

Usually nasty, and often permanent.

The story was well written, event flow was smooth and each encounter described so well that images flashed in my mind, as if I was watching them happen.

Great read.

In fact, Tom Clancy's story is so good that there is a series of identically titled Rainbow Six games, as well as games like Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon which are based on his writing.
