Lost

Have not been a happy bunny lately.

And I know it's primarily because of the dissatisfaction at my work.

I am discontented.

Wasn't my choice to be in this latest job role. Well, I don't consider it being a choice when the alternative is to throw the badge.

Feel like being split three ways, trying to be involved in three different jobs and getting nowhere with each.

Struggling and probably still resisting the latest forced on role, yet I can't concentrate on the works of my previous role.

Work has become dreary, going to work a real drag, and I probably became grumpier, duller, and more antisocial.

Feel so lost. Troubled soul.

I miss my cheery nice nice less grumpy self.

After creating the many small robots in September 2012 (see part 4), I went on to build a big one in October 2012.

To date, this has been the biggest LEGO creation I made since we started getting the LEGO Creator sets for the kids.

It's a fairly flexible robot with many moving parts.

I spent some time on the head, to make it looked armoured and well, nice. The head can tilt and turn.

Needless to say, it has a jetpack. ^_^

Image above shows the jetpack deployed for flight. The image below shows the wings stored when not in use.

The arms are on ball joints and can bend at the elbow. The waist can turn and the legs are also on ball joints, bend at the knee as well as the ankle.

So yes, the robot can be positioned in very nice stance. ^_^

The right hand is a rotating cluster missle launcher with a high calibre gun. The left hand has four grippers.

It has sword and shield too. =)

That's the rear view of the fighting stance with the sword and shield equipped.

And another angle from the front. =P

The boys loved it. And I am rather proud of it myself, it's stylish and has realistic movement and poses.

Teaser for next in the series: car-jet!

Joker

It's a short chat, meant to be brief and simple.

An invitation that I already knew would be rejected before I asked.

I asked anyway. Ya, sometimes, I don't understand myself.

The chat ended up longer than I thought, not long long but a few more sentences compared to the "no thank you", and "okay, bye" that I envisioned.

Still got rejected, of course, no surprise there. But what's worth mentioning is that apparently, I am very fun to chat with, because I make people laugh.

That remark made my day.

Yay! I am bringing fun and laughter to the world. ^_^

Guess that makes me a joker huh?

=P

Home Alone Meals

What does slacker extraordinaire eat when wifey is not around?

Well, I actually photographed all those meals alone and sent to wifey to see. Don't think I earned myself any sympathy point though. =\

I also realised I don't know how to take photo using my smartphone, they all came out blur. >_<

Anyway, here they are. I might have missed taking the photo of a meal or two.

Run Log (May 2013)

18 May 2013, Saturday.

First time in a gym to actually exercise instead of a casual visit or fool around.

First time on a treadmill. Good job caveman, for figuring out how to operate it. =P

About 47 minutes on the threadmill at 3km/h (which wifey said wasn't running -_- ), at least 30 minutes of which was non-stop running.

Actually felt quite proud of myself for that 30 minutes until wifey said that wasn't running... =(

Hey! Just my very first attempt at running ler...

-----

21 May 2013, Tuesday.

Both treadmills occupied, so I hit the road.

So coincident that earlier in the day a friend told me running on actual road is tougher than on treadmill.

Haven't a clue what snail speed I was doing but I barely made it from one end of Gurney Drive to the other. One way.

I walked for about three minutes on the return trip then ran the remaining at an even slower pace. Good thing my wifey wasn't there to comment... =P

Looked up Google map, it's about 1.7km single way, so I gotta do it six times in 1.5 hours.

That's the target. Hope I don't kill myself in six months.

Aside: saw a lady sitting outside the gate texting and sobbing on my way home, felt like showing care and concern but I ended up walking passed without doing anything.

I... I... felt kind of bad, *sigh*. =(

The world needs more love and more courageous people in shinning armour.

-----

24 May 2013, Friday.

36 minutes on the treadmill, 3 minutes to warm up, 3 minutes to warm down, and 30 minutes non-stop running at 4km/h in between.

Stamina first before speed, so I should go for longer run first.

-----

26 May 2013, Sunday.

53 minutes on the threadmill, 5 minutes to warm up, 3 minutes to warm down, and 45 minutes non-stop running at 5km/h in between.

Woot, 5km/h and 45 minutes, double increases!

-----

28 May 2013, Tuesday.

53 minutes on the treadmill, 5 minutes to warm up, 3 minutes to warm down, and 45 minutes non-stop running at 5km/h in between.

Alrighty, seems like I can do 45 minutes non-stop at 5km/h quite comfortably.

-----

30 May 2013, Thursday.

Initially wanted to go outdoor, running around the workplace, but it rained.

So ended up in the gym, and found out that being able to run 45 minutes non-stop at 5km/h doesn't mean I can run 28 minutes non-stop at 8km/h, heh.

20 minutes on the treadmill, 3 minutes to warm up and 2 minutes to warm down. 10 minutes non-stop running at 8km/h, then punctured so went down to 5 minutes non-stop running at 7km/h before I called it a day.

Lesson learned, stick to the progressive increment plan, silly old fart! =P

-----

31 May 2013, Friday.

60 minutes non-stop on the treadmill at 5km/h, with the usual warm up and warm down prior and after.

Woohoo! First one hour running non-stop milestone. ^_^
