The reason Nelson hasn't been blogging

You may ask, who is Nelson?

Well, perfectly valid question since I haven't been poking fun promoting him for a while now.

Well, Nelson is veli the lan si guy... er, just read
this and this

I have been wondering for a while now why Nelson hasn't been updating his blog?

I tried to be understanding since I know he is busy with Facebook, chatting on IM with at least 5 people at the same time (wife, girlfriend #4, colleague, boyfriend and gay friend #27), watching YouTube, sleeping in his cubicle, and pretending to do work when he has the spare time.

But still, that's the time when he is at the office, he sill have plenty of time after work to write something what. I was about to accuse him for having only "5 minutes heat" when I chanced upon this...

Behold! The Bird Man Cafe & Restaurant!

He has secretly started a business, and we know all tauke are money face busy. That's why lar!

Contemporary international dining, big words lor, don't play play. (Means modern international dining)

For those who don't know Chinese, the name of the restaurant, 鸟人, is literally "bird man". The three characters after 'BY' on the lower left corner, 鸟生蛋, are pronounce as 'Nelson Tan'! (Literally: "bird laying egg")

So now you know, Nelson is not being lazy or having short attention span before he loses interest in things.

He is busy.

(yea right!)

Owner of the restaurant, feel free to pay me advertisement fee.

Nelson, please don't kill me. I help you level in CO. =P

Chopping Board

Let's see, same old same old stuff put together to make a package deal.

Throw in some carrot carved to look like rose, or a piece or two of heart-shaped chocolate.

Have to make sure to advertise it with words like "special", "limited", "today only", and of course the winner "V" word. Like magic, that V word.

Decoration wise, throw in something red, pink, white, purple, blue, whatever the current "in" colour is, tie some ribbons, oh, don't forget the flower, the candle, and make sure to dim the light. Anything resembling Cupid works too.

All set, I will have sheeps lining up to my chopping board in no time, cha-ching!

Hmm... maybe I should try to squeeze in a few more tables. You know, make the chopping board bigger and higher, more heads to lop off, and for greater height they would fall.

It's not like there is a lack of sheeps anyway. Sheep, such gullible animal.

Only thing to consider now is whether to inflate the price ten times or twenty times the normal.

Hmm... decision decision.

Happy businessmen-con-you-day V-day, let the slaughtering begins!

Despite the sarcasm, I would grudgingly be slaughtered if wifey insists on such foolishness. Yea, I know, what a hypocrite.

Good thing wifey is a sensible person. ^_^

Slacking in KL

Journey to KL was smooth, thank goodness. Think we managed to arrived a few minutes before the after office hour rush.

Somehow it feels like Chinese New Year holiday has just begun for me. I mean the relaxing type. Last weekend's was more like the reunion, noisy, gathering, action packed type.

You see, at the in-laws', I don't have that many house chores to do, there are many helpers to look after the two kings, and I can leave all the daily activities planning to wifey, hehe. In short, I have less responsibilities at the in-laws', at least it feels so. =P

And of course, there are always a lot of food to eat and snack to munch at the in-laws'. ^_^

The only thing is, I seemed to have developed super hearing, and being a light sleeper that wakes at the slightest of sound, it pretty much meant I haven't slept the whole night. >_<

Oh well, nothing is perfect.

Anyway, let the slacking begins! ^_^

Let's be Superheroes!

Another game fell under my radar rather unexpectedly, and I have been playing it since the abysmal download.

It's a superhero themed MMORPG called Champions Online, and since end of January, it's free to play!

I have only played three sessions so far, and I am liking it. The first impression of the game is "pleasantly surprised".

default graphic has a comic book's feel, due to outline

I am no stranger to MMORPG, World of Warcraft being my latest, on and off since it's launch in Europe.

Currently, I have no time for WoW, for it's a rather involving game. Hence I find Champions Online, a "MMORPG-lite" in comparison, a welcome alternative.

The game is almost item independent, damage output does not depend on whether or not you have that Super Duper Sword of Obliteration, and your defence is not governed by whether you are wearing bikini or metal power suit. If fact, you won't find any weapons or armour in the game. ^_^

I said almost item independent, because there are these things called "upgrades" that can enhance your stats (called characteristics in the game).

I turned off the outline in the video settings, preferred this graphic

Those who subscribed (gold members) to Champions Online has a lot more customisation options as well as can build their hero anyway they like. The free, or silver members can only choose from preset hero builds. A silver member can pay for some of the stuff the gold members get, though I think the 'build hero as you like' is strictly a gold membership thing.

Preset hero builds suit me just fine, for now at least. I don't really want to go read up and figure out all the power-sets, which power builder to choose, when to get what power, talents, et cetera. Have those selected for me and let me just jump into the game and start smashing bad guys, booyah!

I did spent about an hour just to customise my character's look though. One has gotta look awesome while saving the world, hehehe... =P

yes, my character is hot and looks awesome, now stop staring! =P

Give it a try, it's free after all.

yes, I can fly

Now you will have to excuse me, I am going to do some superhero deeds and smash some bad guys, booyah! ^_^

One-liners

-----

Perhaps I should give the two kings a grace period of 31 hours to apologise for their misdeed.

-----

The ability to consistently consume one week's worth of resource in one day is impressive and downright scary.

-----

The interpretations of "anytime after 19:00 hours" are 19:30, 19:40, 20:20, 20:45, and no show.

-----

Evil, I am.
