Octopus Paul treated itself to one of the two mussels placed in different boxes with country flags and the owner interpreted that as picking Spain to win the World Cup.
A parrot in Singapore picked a rolled paper with Holland written on it instead of the other rolled paper with Spain written on it and the owner said it meant Holland will win the World Cup.
As these made news, animal owners all over the world started to fight for their 15 seconds of fame. News tonight showed a zoo keeper somewhere gave two type of fruits to a bunch of animals and said they picked Holland to win.
I am sure there are many more around the globe doing the same thing and hoping to grab a bit of the limelight.
It's 50/50 chance to get it right, it's not rocket science. Even simpleton like me know that.
Yea yea I know the octopus got it right a few times in a roll. So?
Just go flip a coin, and don't be amazed if you get the face 10 times in a roll, as it's possible. I just flipped a 20 cents coin and got face 8 times in a roll before the streak broke. Each flip is independent of the previous flip, it's always 50/50 chance. Having a streak of face or number in a roll is not unusual, and doesn't mean I have super power. If I have flipped the coin a lot more times, the number of times face and number show up will tend towards 50/50, it's just probability and statistics really.
Unless the coin is loaded, of course. =P
Well, I guess human superstition has benefitted the animals, extra treats for them while the World Cup lasts, woohoo! =D
I just hope they don't end up being murdered because of their egomaniac attention seeking owners and some superstitious fanatics. >_<
By the way, Arly Papa predicted Iraq to win the World Cup while my younger son predicted "nnngh" to win. Just saying in case anyone is interested. =P
