Bins & SK-II

Saw YKK and RB in Gurney Plaza on the two days that I happened to be there this week. The formal when I ran over after dinner to pick up a cross cable for lab work, and the latter when I was there to purchase the movie tickets for the upcoming teambuilding event.

Haven't seen them since moving to ulu place. Eye candies, we could really use more in the work place. Looking at ladies easy on the eyes is a perfectly normal thing for men,
good for men's health and prolongs their lives too.

While a few of my lunch buddies would feel otherwise, YKK simply never appeals to me. Just not my type I guess, everyone has his/her own taste. However RB did appeal to me, did, but no more.

Not sure what have changed, but RB looks different now, and lost that something that I found attractive. Oh well. Doesn't matter really, what matters is having more eye candies at ulu place. Goodness knows we need that.

Seen some ladies with a "plastic" look recently, as if there's a layer of artificial substance covering their face that reflects light.

Only there isn't, well I think there isn't anyway since I didn't go up close and inspect. Don't want to get slapped, no thank you.

Tonight my brainwave finally connected and I realised it has got to be the effect of the SK-II product, whatever it's called, the thingy that makes you "glow". The lady in the SK-II TV commercial has the same "plastic" look!

Each to his/her own but I am one who prefers the natural look. I am Chinese and I am supposed to be yellow with black hair, not white with red/blond/<insert dye colour> hair, thank you very much.

Okay okay, I have no hair but I assure you they are of my natural black! =P

Thanks to the power of advertisement and the "grass is always greener on the other side" mentality, yellow people wants to be fair, black people wants to be white, while the white people wants to be tan. And companies like SK-II rake in billions.

The plastic glow thingy is really taking it too far, come on, who on earth glows naturally? I suggest those who have forgotten their root to go look at newborn babies, they possess beauty in the most pure, natural way.

As usual, can always count on human beings to destroy themselves.

Seriously, what's wrong with just being your natural self?

Random Conversations & Thoughts

Collection of conversations and thoughts recently, up to today's.

-----

mum: what do you want for your birthday?
boy: present.
mum: what present?
boy: birthday present. (father fell off the chair laughing at this point. Yea, I am easily amused)
mum: what birthday present?
boy: candles. (mother started laughing at this point)
mum: candles? You want candles as your birthday present?
boy: yea.

When my sons were suffering from the hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD)...

wifey: remind your colleagues to wash thier hands with alcohol hand wash.
hubby: okay.
wifey: also, try not to kiss your colleagues.
hubby: huh?!?!? Who would kiss me in the office?
wifey: *naughty grin*
hubby: besides, doesn't matter if they kiss me since they are not HFMD carriers, as long as I don't kiss them will do. (thought she meant a peck on the cheek that kind of kiss)
wifey: well... depends on where they kiss.
hubby: !!!
wifey: *evil laugh*

-----

The office is going to be a less and less fun place as more and more closer colleagues and friends started leaving.

-----

I only have 8 books that I want to write a review nia mar. Hmm... seems like I am reading slower than before.

Oh, and the shuttlecocks review.

And the ron95 versus ron97 comparison.

And the Hall of Shame thingy.

And my Harly Potter story.

And...

Okay, too much, let me just procrastinate more. ^_^

No more Leverage, I sat there in front of the television feeling a bit lost...

Someone. No one

I am in a sentimental mood. Emotional too.

At times like this I wish I had a friend who understands me, who cares, who wouldn't mind just holding my hands or giving me a hug, who has mutual trust that I could talk to without restraint or holding back, who let me confide, express and share.

Someone whom I am not attached to, not romantically involved with, someone impartial who could give me a good kick and slap some sense into me if need be.

Someone who could spare me the time willingly, without rushing me. Someone who could walk with me in silence, or just sit together pondering.

A really good, close friend.

Of which I do not have.

Petrol price up midnight!

Public service: petrol price up 5 cents this midnight! Both Ron95 and Ron97.

Source of information: RTM2 20:00 hours Mandarin news.

Not sure how many Malaysian will see this in time but oh well, you can go thank the Malaysia government for this underhand sneaky operation.

Poor, but Rich

One morning a few days ago...

dad: bye bye Hsiang, take care of mama and didi ya?
boy: are you going to work?
dad: yes Hsiang, papa is going to work.
boy: why?
dad: er... papa has to work so we have money to buy things, like food, clothes, toys...
boy: okay, bye papa!

Got home late tonight and sons were winding down to sleep...

dad: hi Hsiang Hsiang, hi Young Young.
boy: hi papa, are you back from work?
dad: yes Hsiang Hsiang.
boy: papa, why do you come back home?
dad: huh? I always come home after work, Hsiang.
boy: so, you have enough money now?
mum: *laugh* hahahahaha! Rich liao huh?
dad: *tries to keep a straight face* no Hsiang, but papa cannot stay at the office. You know, I stay here, sleep, eat...

While I haven't got much in the wallet or bank account, I sure feel rich tonight.

Innocent children, they say the funniest things.

On a totally unrelated note:

Just watched the last episode of
Leverage season 2 tonight, guess the television is back to news only for me, again. Oh well.

World Cup Predictions

Octopus Paul treated itself to one of the two mussels placed in different boxes with country flags and the owner interpreted that as picking Spain to win the World Cup.

A parrot in Singapore picked a rolled paper with Holland written on it instead of the other rolled paper with Spain written on it and the owner said it meant Holland will win the World Cup.

As these made news, animal owners all over the world started to fight for their 15 seconds of fame. News tonight showed a zoo keeper somewhere gave two type of fruits to a bunch of animals and said they picked Holland to win.

I am sure there are many more around the globe doing the same thing and hoping to grab a bit of the limelight.

It's 50/50 chance to get it right, it's not rocket science. Even simpleton like me know that.

Yea yea I know the octopus got it right a few times in a roll. So?

Just go flip a coin, and don't be amazed if you get the face 10 times in a roll, as it's possible. I just flipped a 20 cents coin and got face 8 times in a roll before the streak broke. Each flip is independent of the previous flip, it's always 50/50 chance. Having a streak of face or number in a roll is not unusual, and doesn't mean I have super power. If I have flipped the coin a lot more times, the number of times face and number show up will tend towards 50/50, it's just probability and statistics really.

Unless the coin is loaded, of course. =P

Well, I guess human superstition has benefitted the animals, extra treats for them while the World Cup lasts, woohoo! =D

I just hope they don't end up being murdered because of their egomaniac attention seeking owners and some superstitious fanatics. >_<

By the way, Arly Papa predicted Iraq to win the World Cup while my younger son predicted "nnngh" to win. Just saying in case anyone is interested. =P
