Goldfish memory

I have goldfish memory, I don't remember how many times I have said it, but I know I have said it many times.

Or perhaps it's just the start of Alzheimer's disease, following after my mom...

Anyway, received a notice from local bank, asking me to pop by with original fixed deposit receipt because it has not caught up with time and technology, so I cannot just handle the fixed deposit online like other banks I have account with.

Oh well, definitely going to withdraw the fixed deposit and transfer it to other bank that let me handle this online.

But first I have to find that original receipt, and thanks to my goldfish memory, I don't remember where I put it. Bollocks.

Searched high and low, three possible places I could think of that I could have kept document like that, but nada.

Found the "Learning is fun" poster I made for myself many years ago though, which I blu-tacked to just above the monitor connected to NUC, the computer elder son uses. Hopefully it will motivate him.

Cacat

Things nowadays, damn cacat!

Ya, that's a Malay word.

If you have never viewed this blog using a web browser, and only seen the mobile version, then you really should see the web browser version and read those texts under the blog title.

Yes, those texts have been there since day one of this blog. ^_^

Anyway, back to the cacat stuff that I have the misfortune to be using nowadays.

Refreshed my work laptop recently, didn't have the brand I trust and wanted, even the second choice brand was listed as not available, so I picked a brand that I have no experience with.

It's not bad overall, can't fault the 11th generation Intel CPU, no 12th generation yet since it is only just coming out on laptop later this year. But the fan noise, good grief!

Sounds like the laptop is going to lift off any time now. >_<

Since the old docking station is not compatible with the new laptop, I got a new one with the laptop refresh, supposedly a universal docking station.

Everything works except the hdmi port, I did what troubleshooting I could and it seems like the technical support is satisfied with what I did, since after the phone call a replacement docking station was sent to me, instead of any other troubleshooting.

Only the replacement docking station has exactly the same issue! What are the odds that two brand new docking stations have the same issue? I have my doubt so I asked for technical support in troubleshooting, perhaps it's not the docking station but something else?

Guess what they said? They are sending me yet another docking station...

At this point I honestly don't know if it's the product that is cacat, or the technical support that is cacat. Or both.

Lastly, the monitor I bought shortly after Movement Control Order was enforced for the very first time (which was also the only time that's actually effective...) to set up my home office, joined the cacat gang and started to have jitter at the bottom of the screen first when connected through the display port, and now on the hdmi port.

Maybe it's just my cacat luck...

通常我周日做工日的部落格文章都是晚上才上载的，因为晚餐后才有自己的时间嘛。

今天发现居家工作的另一个好处：可以在午餐时间快快写篇文章所以可以在白天特定的时间上载哦。

是的，这篇文章是中午一点多就写好了，特地预定在两点二十二分发布的，呵呵！

这么多二的一天，我第一个想到的是… 好饿哦。

也许是因为我在应该吃午餐的时间在写文章吧，呵呵！

Weekly fix

For many years now, Monday of every week is my 'Running Man night'.

Unless I am very busy and have to work overtime, then bollocks I have to watch it the first free evening I get.

Running Man is a Korean variety show introduced to me by a colleague friend, funny thing is I am never a K-pop of K-drama fan, but Running Man somehow captivated me.

It has been my weekly fix ever since, and I like to joke that I get withdrawal whenever the show is cancelled for the week for whatever reason.

Like last week, due to Winter Olympics.

This week it's back on, so I don't have to get my fix watching the old episodes.

The old episodes when Monday Couple was still the thing are still my favourite. Funny how a fake on screen relationship is so enticing to me, I am just weird I guess.

Anyway, enough writing, time to watch Running Man!

Uncertainty

Was told by a caring colleague friend that a colleague whose cubicle is close to mine has tested positive for Covid-19.

A bit of information gathering and fact finding later it seems like the colleague was tested positive yesterday.

I was in the office on Monday, and I talked to the colleague, was the colleague already carrying the virus then? I don't know if I am a close contact or not, I have not heard from any health care personnel.

Besides feeling tired, which is usual for me and which I think has more to do with the sleep quality than anything, I don't feel different to usual. Of course I could be asymptomatic...

Anyway, I have asked all family members to do a self test tomorrow morning, and was rather surprised by wifey's reluctance. Just for peace of mind, if nothing.

Hopefully nothing. *Fingers crossed*

It's always the not knowing, the uncertainty, that's mentally torturing.

And I already know that even if the saliva self test kit shows that I am negative, I will still have doubt. Saliva test kit is not that accurate after all.

Oh well, better negative than positive.

重振

十五天的农历新年过了，该好好收拾和整理下心情。

不喜欢最近工作的状况和自己的心态，仿佛没有方向的忙碌，那迷茫、迷惘的感觉。

需要策划怎么应付那多项的工作，和积极的一一完成它们。

应该是最近态度和精神太散漫，不集中，所以事倍功半、效率差。

也可能是对工作有点厌倦，所以总是提不起劲。

是什么都好，那徒劳无功、白忙的感觉很烂，所以不想要继续这样。

年过完了，重新出发吧！

是的，我这样来催眠和说服自己。

晒屁股

刚过的星期很忙、很累、也背着很大的精神压力。

年假一过就没日没夜的忙。赶工为了星期五的一个会议。

老板有个主意，想要得到大老板的赞同，申请公司资助几年的大型计划。数据由命贱的我提供，一个月的工作分量四天要完成…

当大老板说主意虽然很好，但不适合大型计划时，老实说我还真的松了一口气。

星期六我过了中午才起床。是的，我真的很累。

很久很久已经没有睡到太阳晒屁股了，感觉自己这周末很成功！
