Got 'em!

Coca-cola has special Chinese New Year version of Coke cans, eight version to be precise, each with a unique Chinese character complete with its pinyin as well as its English and Malay translations.

I didn't think of collecting them initially since I only had two out of the eight. But while at the inlaw's I managed to get four more so I was consciously on the look out for the remaining two thereafter.

Wifey managed to get the seventh, so I sent out request on three different WhatsApp groups asking for help locating the eighth.

A few responded, agreed to help keeping an eye out or supplied location where they had seen selling the character I was looking for. None in the group with the largest number of people responded though, hmm...

To those who helped in one way or another, thank you very much! You know who you are. ^_^

As for those who couldn't be bothered, no thanks to you! Call yourself friend huh? =P

Anyway, I finally got the last character today, completing the set. =D

These are the Chinese characters, their pinyin, their English and Malay translations, in that order:

an(1), peace, kesejahteraan
shun(4), smooth (year), kecemerlangan
ji(2), good luck, tuah
wang(4), fortune, rezeki
fa(1), wealth, kekayaan
man(3), abundance, kelebihan
xi(3), happiness, kebahagiaan
fu(2), prosperity, kemakmuran

Three hardest things to say

Initial draft dated 1st of December 2014.

Read that the three hardest things to say are "I love you", "I am sorry", and "Help me".

Hmm... Really?

Well, personally, I have no problem whatsoever saying I love you to wifey and my kids, it's natural and in fact something we do on a daily basis. To wifey, definitely, maybe not daily to the kids.

Oh, and provided we are not in some cold war, that is, which thankfully does not happen all that frequently. ^_^

I also like to reply "I love you too" to the "I hate you!" from close friends, but I suppose that's cheek and does not count. =P

I also have no problem whatsoever apologising, as long as it's truly my fault. I apologise immediately as soon as I realised I have done something wrong or done something that might have offended someone.

Not hard at all for me, in fact, it's natural and feels right.

That said, I do know of people who find it hard to apologise. Oh yea, I know them alright...

Help me, well, this is a hard one for me. At least it's harder compared to the other two above.

Pride, I guess.

Don't get me wrong, I do ask for help when I need it, it's just, for me, not as easy as saying I love you and I am sorry.

Random behaviour for March 2015

Er... I pretty much didn't do any abdominal muscles exercise throughout February, coupled that with eating non-stop during Chinese New Year, my abdominal muscles have happily reunited.

All for one and one for all! =P

Anyway, for March 2015, my impromptu resolution is: to smile more.

Because I can.

Reigniting old passion

Not sure why the elder son is so keen to get me to do archery with him? Not sure if it's wifey who has been asking him to say so? And not sure why wifey is keen to get me to do archery again?

But anyway, I disrespected weekend and woke up early today to do just that: went archery with the kids.

good thing tummy is not too obvious...

I am more used to 20 yards (about 18 metres), since that was the distance I mainly shot at back in the university days. But it's either 10, 25, 30, 50, 70 or 90 metres on the field today.

So I did the 25 metres, of which I had no sight level of.

Good thing I had sight levels for 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80 yards from the past, so a bit of interpolation and unit conversion got me a rough starting sight level, which wasn't too far off and after a few arrows I managed to tuned in my sight for 25 metres.

Truth is I couldn't see where my arrows hit, so I had to ask wifey and the kids shooting beside me where my arrows went and fine-tuned accordingly. Eyesight goes with age, okay? -_-

I like archery, but there are two things that bothered me today.

The first thing is that I haven't done archery for many years, so I couldn't keep up with the youngins, who shot without fail at least six arrows every round. I started with six, then reduced to three, and eventually quit when my left arm no longer responded to my will. =P

The youngins continued for many rounds, and they were shooting at 50, 70 and 90 metres...

This I can deal with, I believe my strength will return as long as I keep practising, it just takes some time.

why is there an uncle among the children?

The second thing that bothered me is, well, there is at least a 20 years age gap between me and the oldest of the other archers, and more than 30 years between me and the youngest.

It just feels weird. >_<

A meh! day

It's good that many colleagues were back to work today, lunch was again more lively. That's about the only highlight of the day.

Rushed to work only to find the meeting had been cancelled, without notice, meh!

Finally processed all the data collected before I break for Chinese New Year, only to go directly into factory floor to collect more data . Worked till 20:00 hours for that, and caused a colleague friend to be late for her mom's birthday dinner. =(

Sorry 33. My bad. >_<

Rushed home for a late dinner, super hungry but only to find that I have misplaced my home key. Bollocks. >_<

Couldn't find it. Hope I can find it tomorrow in the office. *fingers crossed*
