It's Good to be Thorough

What initially intended to be a comprehensive explanation that I expect no one will bother looking into turned out to be useful after all, so I am glad I did it.

I did provide the requested bullet points. Only the bullet points were in the summary after two pages of how I came to that summary. =P

My colleague said I am completely covering my arse instead of his usual practice of covering the arsehole only. Crude analogy, I know, haha.

True in a sense but really it's more like a reminder for myself in case anyone asked in the future why I said so, cause I know I will forget if I don't have a record of my thought process. Goldfish memory, yay! =P

Besides, it shows professionalism, *ehem*. =P

Anyway, I heard they actually took 15 minutes to look at what I wrote and ended up I got a free lunch for that, hehe.

My Superheroes

You have seen my superhero friends, now it's time you meet the truely awesome superheroes in Champions Online (CO).

Mine, of course! =P

While I love roleplaying games (RPG), I don't really roleplay in game, as in I don't usually speak with funny accent or behave in a weird manner.

I did however, wrote a very brief background for each of my superheroes.

LunaShade, elf, Marksman

Archery holds a special place in my heart, so it's easy to decide on which archtype (class) to create as my first hero.

Background story:

The elf maiden LunaShade has been abducted by an unknown entity from her lush homeworld in another universe. A universe where the most advanced technology was centuries behind compared to this one.

LunaShade keeps to herself and is determined to find out who or what has brought her here. She seeks a way home.

LunaShade is a ranged damage dealer, not very durable, but deadly.

Next I wanted a hero with spells or magical powers, the Glacier's powers seemed a bit like my frost mage's in World of Warcraft. So Glacier it is!

Soul, human, Glacier

I like Ironman, so I want my superhero to be clad in a high tech power armour, hence the awesome cool looking costume. (If you disagree you are just jealous =P)

Background story:

Soul is an enigma. He is cold and borderline antisocial. Some believed that he is a brilliant engineer who has designed and manufactured his advanced suit of armour that generates freezing attacks from vapour. While the truth about Soul may not be known, it's clear from his actions that he is a judicator of justice and peace.

The Glacier is supposingly a tank according to the maker of CO. While the archtype has hugh health, the powers are more towards crowd control, like chill and root.

Not having any skill with inherently high threat or to hold aggro, I am rather puzzled by this supposingly tank class. Still haven't figured out how to properly tank with this hero.

So I have a DPS and a tank, naturally I created a healer next! =)

Breeze, human/angel, Mind

Background story:

Breeze is a carer. She has delved deep into mysticism and obtained immense power which she uses mainly to heal or to support others in need. Breeze's sacred actions has moved the Goddess of Healing, whom granted her a divine halo, angel wings, as well as turning her irises pure white. Do not cross the carer, for she is equally capable of delivering divine vengeance.

The powers pre-determined for this archtype are relevant for her healer/support role, so I got a hang of playing this class fairly soon.

My modus operandi for this hero so far is to cast the ranged AoE DoT power, then block until the mobs die or until I need to refresh the DoT, or heal myself.

Geek dictionary:
- AoE = area of effect
- DoT = damage over time

Not very satisfy with Glacier as a tank, I tried the other archtype, the Behemoth.

Armour, human, Behemoth

Yes yes, I like my high tech power armour costume so much (cause it's freaking awesome!) I reused it with a different colour scheme and eye piece.

Behemoth is strong, really!

Background story:

Armour is the silent type, he rarely speaks of his past. Born with superhuman strength which is further augmented by the power suit developed for him by the multibillionaire S.E., Armour is a force to be reckoned on.

with great strength comes the capability of lifting huge stuff...

... and the capabiltiy to inflict great pain on the bad guys. Ouch!

This archtype has pre-determined powers that I am more familiar with as a tank: high health pool, high defence or damage mitigation, skills that generate threat, AoE stun, ranged intercept.

This will probably be my preferred tank character. I will still try to figure out the Glacier of course.

So there you have it, my superheroes and their awesome costume. Remember, you see it here first.

If you ever found any other heroes with similar costume, you know they are just copycats!

Understandable, these costumes are just too cool and too awesome everybody wants them! =P

Random Thoughts

All five of my work/lunch/karaoke buddies had at least played Munchkin once now, looking forward to the full 6 players Munchkin game. ^_^

And yes, lan si Kok Kok has not won so far. =P

- market junction to mountain route junction: 10 minutes
- mountain route junction to Bayan Baru roundabout via BJCC: 10 minutes
- roundabout to bridge entrance: 4 minutes
- bridge entrance to Tesco: 3 minutes
- Tesco to home: 20 minutes

Note to self:

Be prepared to jump into the drain to retrieve letters if you put them on top of your car in a breezy day.

Use some sort of weight or clamp them under the armpit next time.

My Superhero Friends

A few of my courageous friends have heeded my call to arms and are now fighting for justice.


Rex the Glacier

Rex is the first to answer the call, though his fate is unknown now as I haven't seen him for a while. Either he has been defeated by the villians or he has retired.

Next came Gator and Yuna. This is Gator before he upgraded his armour.

When Gator enters a battle, the mobs are going to fly. Literally you will see the bad guys surrounding Gator get blown off.

Yuna is a hot-headed heroine who jumps straight into fight, any fight, without much consideration of her teammates. Probably because she is blindfolded...

This is the fire throwing Gator2, slightly shorter than the rest of us but by no means less lethal.


Riverbird the Blade

Riverbird in her ugly as sin costume, nearly wanted to poke my eyes out when I first met her.

After a fashion consultancy, her costume has improved somewhat. Riverbird is a confused bird in a mutant-cat body, and probably a spy from the Purple Gang...
