Of course there's a reason for the request. Of course it's just a simple thing.

But of course if the request was not met immediately the moment has passed. And of course then the truth has to be withheld, and a lie manufactured, let's just say the request is for no reason.

Of course the more being asked, stubborn refusal is the way to go. Gotta keep up the lie. Harmless little lie, of course.

It is, of course, not like it matters anyway. Who cares if he really wants to know? It is not like being honest, frank and direct is our way of life. Of course.

Who cares how he feels? He is, of course, not important anyway. And of course pissing him off is more fun.
