I went out (7)

Since the previous entry of this series, I was out of the house ten times, so my total out of the house count stands at 24 as of today.

15th outing: went to office on 8th of July for work and delivery pick up.

16th outing: went to office on 20th of July for work, bought lunch home from Batu Lanchang market.

17th outing: went to PC Depot at eGate on 22nd of July for their "technician" to figure out how to resolve the incompatibility of monitor and monitor mount bought online from them. Total waste of time.

18th outing: went to office on 30th of July for work.

19th outing: went out to pick up Domino's Pizza (Hsiang's birthday meal) on 31st of July.

20th outing: went to office on 6th of August for work, bought lunch home from Batu Lanchang market.

21st outing: went to Honda service centre for fuel pump replacement on 13th of August. Walked home, took me 68 minutes.

22nd outing: went to pet shop to get hamster on 15th of August. 'Snowball' in da house!

23rd outing: went out to takeaway food for lunch on 23rd of August (so coincidentally the 23rd outing), as celebration of my first ever patent filing.

24th outing: went to office on 28th of August for work, bought lunch home from Batu Lanchang market.

As of 28th of August, 23 weeks and 2 days (163 days) have past since the beginning of Movement Control Order on 18th of March. I have been out of the house 24 times in 23 weeks, so slightly more than once per week on average.

Here are the main reasons I went out:

- drive around to keep car battery healthy: 6

- bank: 1

- grocery: 1

- pick up takeaway meal: 3

- dine in restaurant: 1

- clinic: 1

OMG! OMG! OMG!

So there I was, working after dinner, post-processing the thermal simulation set to run this morning, when my inbox got three new e-mails one after another.

All of them from the company patent group.

One part of my brain was wondering which innovation idea submissions they are rejecting this time while another part of the brain was pondering about the fact that I haven't submitted any new ones recently.

Then I read the e-mails.

I think I have understood the e-mails correctly, I sure hope I did.

And if what I think I understood is correct, I am finally going to have my first patent filed!

Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!

First time ever I am glad I am working overtime, at night, in the weekend.

Please let this be real.

又一季

刚做完工，到晚餐后才检查模拟的进度，所以在那之前可以享受下周末。

原本想看「奔跑吧！」，但发现原来这一季已完了，上星期是这季的最后一集。

唉，又少了一个娱乐的选择。

虽然总觉得这一季没以前好看了，但有得看还是好过没得看的，毕竟还没有到不值得看的程度。

好像年尾还会有特别的一季什么的，没有太留意，不然又要等一年了。

好啦，就是要记录下这些，是时候做番薯，嘢！

Potato mode

Tomorrow is Awal Muharam public holiday.

Didn't take Friday off to make a long weekend since have work to do so taking leave is just a waste as I will end up working anyway.

So just a day off, and I intend to not do anything work related whatsoever.

New family member

Elder son wanted a dog as birthday present.

I know it will become the parents' responsibility after his five minutes interest wanes, so I suggested guinea pig, thinking it's something more manageable.

Wifey said hamster instead. Smaller than guinea pig, she said.

Anyway, son's birthday came and went, no pet as present, but the hamster idea has warmed up instead of waned over time.

Wifey started buying stuff online and building stuff in preparation, so this new family member seems inevitable.

After helping her built some stuff yesterday after work and today after lunch, our hamster home is ready, and we have stuff for an additional play area too.

So we went and bought the hamster.

'Snowball' in da house!

The name 'Snowball' has been coined ever since elder son wanted a dog. If they picked the brown hamster I would have called it 'Cookie' though, but since they picked the white one, 'Snowball' it is.

We spent a good amount of time arranging and re-arranging the hamster home, and throughout those hours 'Snowball' had been active, pretty much running non-stop.

Oh, and tried to bite our fingers when we were arranging its home.

A real ball of energy.

生活点滴：五只羊

心累，有那被背叛的感觉。

我在乎的、重视的，就只有我自己在乎重视而已。

身累，有那要生病了的感觉。

走了一个小时回家也有关系…


午餐时问小瓜：“爸爸太累了，不想工作了，你几时要养我？”

“嗬？我都还没有上中学喔…”

他有点错愕，但接着就很开朗、天马行空的说：

“让我变成五只羊，卖掉四只来赚钱，剩下的一只再变回人。”

（五只羊和他的名字同音。）

“用剩下的一只变回人你不是变成很小只咯？”

我玩笑的说，用手比了一个小人的高度。

“那我可以一直长大咯。”

他也笑着说。

家里正在准备仓鼠的住区和活动区什么的，打算买只仓鼠做宠物。

两个瓜和老婆仔都兴致勃勃的，所以我便说：

“你变成小只时可以和 hamster 住在一起。”

然后我们又笑翻。

从认识到变成朋友，从朋友变成情人，从情人变成老婆仔，她都留着我超喜欢的一头长发。

我这老土的男人就是喜欢长发的女人。

然而，今天她把那一头漂亮的长发剪成了平装。

Random thoughts

(1) Guinea pig

Consulted doctor, taken the medicines.

Still coughing.

Knew it all along am just a guinea pig going through the trial and error practice.

(2) Of course...

Had a smooth weekend in terms of work progress, the thermal simulation cases ran without hiccup.

Unreal, since generally life is not kind to me.

So of course it's when I have done all the simulations and finished post-processing all eight cases that I found a mistake.

Yea, life is cruel.

Bollocks!

(3) New family member imminent

Son wanted a dog for birthday.

Knew deep down it would end up being wifey's and mine responsibility when his five minutes interest wanes.

He and his track record of numerous five minutes interests...

I suggested guinea pig instead, at least something more manageable, I think.

Wifey warmed up to the idea but going for hamster instead, saying hamsters are smaller.

Was hoping the interest would wane before anything happened but wifey has started making bits and pieces and bought stuff online, so I guess it's really happening.

(4) No tea just yea

When you said yea time instead of tea time, all I could do is to say "yea".

*Sigh*...

Could use a cup of tea instead, really. =P

有感而发：奔跑吧，兄弟！

二零二零年八月八日。

依旧醒来就工作到午餐为止，近期的常态。

庆幸的是模拟很顺利，所以少了烦，就只是忙。

这周末只要根据计划好的程序再跑多四、五个模拟下星期一就可以有很好的报告了。

生活已经到了会因为这小小的事而感动的程度…

午餐后，在那没有隐隐做不完工作的不安心境下看了最新一集的「奔跑吧！」。

不知道是近来繁忙的心情还是什么啦，对这一季的「奔跑吧！」有点失望，觉得大不如前了。

但这集不错哦！

不知不觉已经第一百集了。

还真的有被这集节目感动到。

虽然我还是怀念邓超、陈赫和王祖蓝那三位搞笑老成员们，但有节目总是好过完全没有节目好看的…

忙忙忙

忘了已连续不停工作过了几个周末，至少有三个吧？

周末多数还只是做到午餐，然后晚餐后再继续，午餐后到晚餐前有一些时间番薯下。

多数啦，也有周末午餐后还是要继续做的日子的…

周日就不用讲了，没有做到头痛就算幸运了。

这几天是醒来就做到睡觉为止那种程度，根本没有时间喘一口气。

今天晚餐后做到了可以告一段落的地步，等模拟跑完后迟点再继续。

所以趁机快快写个文章，不然不知道几时才有时间和精神给部落格。

忙到～
