Gaming spree

In order to achieve my resolution this month, I spent most of the evening and tonight playing the MMORPG Neverwinter. I didn't have the time nor the energy during weekdays.

my healing cleric, wizard, warlock, and paladin tank

Since it's a special weekend where we get double refinement points, I used up all the saved refinement items and upgraded all my max level characters' artifact equipments to epic grade. ^_^

my rogue, guardian fighter, DPS cleric, and healing paladin

There is also a special event ongoing in the game, lasting two weeks, where players try to break the siege on Neverwinter. I particularly like defeating the dragons. So the majority of my max level characters are parked in that area for the time being.

my hunter ranger and great weapon fighter

I still have a max level character who hasn't got her main hand artifact weapon, so I am working on that long questline. This is the main focus this weekend, as I would like to get it done within the double refinement points period so I can upgrade the item to epic grade.

Since I have gotten seven other max level characters through that questline throughout the years, and this character being the very durable healing paladin class, I don't think I will have any problem. I just need to have time and energy for gaming.

Regardless, I am done for today.

Weekend project: library cataloguing & cleanup

Wifey managed to clear up four sections of the main home library bookshelves. The books were doublestacked top and bottom as well as front and back in two rows in pretty much every section of the bookshelves. It's overdue for a tidy up.

Since we never had a complete inventory of our books, I decided to catalogue the books as well besides rearranging the books.

Took me two days.

As of around 18:00 hours today, I have finally got, on Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet of all the books currently on the main home library bookshelves. All 416 of them, which I arranged in sections in an order that makes sense to me, and I labelled the sections.

I mentioned main home library bookshelves since there are still a few 'secondary' bookshelves in the house. A bookshelf full of my Mandarin novels from my primary and high school days, as well as comics. Another bookshelf beside the main dining table filled with parents' books, plus a few more in the 'library' room, and many shelves full of children novels.

I am not going to catalogue all these 'secondary' bookshelves, since nobody ever touch them nowadays, hehe. =P

What I do still want to put into the spreadsheet though, are the books currently on loan to others. These I will have to wait until I got them back from friends and family.

Got myself a mild backache, but I am very pleased with what I achieved. ^_^

Random behaviour for October 2016

I think I have succeeded in my August's impromptu resolution, something that I will continue to do.

Didn't set a resolution for September, oh well.

Gotta treat myself better, so this month's resolution is an attempt to inject some relief, balance, escape, and fun back to my life.

For October 2016, my impromptu resolution is: to have at least a proper computer gaming session every week.

Because I can.

I love you more

Earlier this week, before I headed to sleep (read in the bed while eating supper then only go to sleep really...), as usual I did the daily goodnight routine.

Hugged, kissed, said goodnight, and said I love you.

But instead of the usual "I love you too", wifey said "I love you more".

Huh?

I didn't think too much about it since I was tired that day, figured I might have misheard. Hearing degradation with age, that sort of thing.

Then she said that again the next day, to which I replied:

"No, I love you MORE!"

She just laughed.

It's an established and acknowledged fact that I love her more than she loves me, I guess she just wanted to hear it.

Yes my dear, I love you more! ^_^

Weekend warrior

These two weeks, since I returned from the business trip, I tired easily and had been going to bed early everyday.

Shortly after dinner and shower I would be sleepy, and so I didn't have time to spend with wifey to chat and just being with each other. I didn't have time to do stuff, personal time like writing a blog, checking Facebook, surfing the net, playing computer game, et cetera.

On most evening I didn't even turn on my computer. Da horror! >_<

Sleeping early and waking up early is probably a healthier lifestyle like old people, but it really leaves me no time for personal stuff, and that's like having no life at all!

Work, sleep, work, sleep, work, sleep, and it's weekend...

So I have to cramp everything into the weekend, which is not my ideal lifestyle, I rather have a balanced work/life routine everyday.

I hope this is just a temporary thing, a lengthy time zone adjustment thing due to my age instead of a permanent thing, erm... due to my age. -_-

There gotta be some personal time everyday instead of just the weekend!

Wasted

Recognition dinner yesterday evening.

It's good to be recognised, especially since I am the kind who like to resolve something before the impact is serious. You know, pre-emptively resolve issue before it becomes deep shit.

Unlike some colleagues who would leave issue until it's seriously messed up, until the management noticed it, so they can be the hero who saved the day. Gotta say they are the ones the management remembers, and so they are usually the ones being recognised.

Me? I consider myself successful if I resolved an issue before management even notices it. If I did my job well, there would be no issue that concerns the management. Of course, this has the downside of the management not knowing the effort and time I put in.

So yea, I don't get that many recognitions.

Anyway, recognition dinner yesterday at a fancy restaurant, I am glad I am remembered, since my part was done early in the project phase, and it has been smooth ever since. I guess I did a good job.

But I started to develop a headache just before I left for the dinner, I think it's due to tiredness. Wifey advised me to rest and not to go to the dinner, which I foolishly ignored.

When I reached the restaurant, it has become a splitting headache, plus I probably got motion sickness on the way to the restaurant. So I have lost all appetite.

A couple of satays, a few sushis, and some pieces of fruit. That's all I managed. None of the seafood, meat or any other goodies. And I threw up before I left, so I pretty much wasted everything.

As soon as I was back home I took a quick shower and hit the bed. Dead to the world until two in the morning when my hunger woke me.

Wifey is always right, should have listened to her.

Still, it's good to be recognised.
