Calling Bookworms

Four novels this time, all from Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

Nope, not the Dragonlance but the The Darksword Trilogy plus another Darksword book.

The Darksword Trilogy:
Forging the Darksword, volume I
Doom of the Darksword, volume II
Triumph of the Darksword, volume III

And also Legacy of the Darksword.

In a world where magic is life, baby Joram was born without magic, so he was pronounced as being "dead". But guess what? According to prophecy, this Joram held the fate of the world.

Tough luck. =P

The Darksword trilogy told the story of Joram, from birth till he became a man, and ended with his decision and action that changed the world forever.

Of course, in between all that time, it's packed full of goodies!

The Legacy of the Darksword was a continuation of the story line after the trilogy.

Obviously there was a Darksword, how it's created and what's so special about it was revealed.

There were also magic, dragons, centaurs, faeries, tanks, laser, spaceships, space travel, time travel, battles, wars, romance, aliens, parallel universe, Merlyn (with "y" instead of "i"), Excalibur (mentioned), and a teddy bear with an orange ribbon.

I kid you not.

There truely are all those things in the novels, and no, they don't suck monkey balls being all together. That's what makes the novels so involving.

Being a Dragonlance fan for so many years it took me a bit of getting used to the magic system in the Darksword series, it's a refreshing change.

Great books by Margaret and Tracy, go read!

Tagged?

I seldom get comment so I was rather excited when I saw a comment to my last entry, thinking someone has something to say about my twisted sense of humour or something.

Instead I was told I am tagged.

Huh?

Probably something to do with having a link to my blog kua?

Whatever, I hope I am tagged with something nice like "slacker extraordinaire", or "nutter", or "bore your brain off", and not something that I will have a hard time living up to.

=P

Wouldn't have posted this if I wasn't tagged, now let me get back to slacking off my Raya holidays.

Gotta maintain my slacker reputation. =)

Luke, I am your father

We haven't given our baby a shower in his bathtub for a while now, since he learned to stand on his own.

However, he is back into his bathtub these past couple of days for he loves splashing the water around. If he was standing he would step energetically on the wet floor to splash the water and risk slipping, so we indulge him and put him in his tub.

Besides his infectious laughters of joy and getting us really wet, we also remember a game we used to play with him.

Not impressed oh-so-many months ago, not impressed now either...

Today, wife asked if we should just call him Luke.

=P

Bliss

Bliss is when your loving wife sees you reading a novel on the bed,
reminds you that there are some snacks available,
proceeds to bring you a can of chilled Coke,
and brings the adorable but very attention demanding little one elsewhere so you can have some peace and relax time.

Yes, I am a lucky man.

Love you, my dear.

I want!

Heard about a Mark II for my dream digital SLR a few days ago, so I went online to look for information today.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II

21MP full frame sensor
DIGIC 4 processor
ISO 100-6400, expandable to 50-25600
30 to 1/8000 s shutter speed + bulb, 1/3 increment
3" LCD with Live View (no idea what Live View is, but 3", yummy!)
Video recording (huh?)
3.9 fps (not fantastic but more than enough for me)
Magnisium alloy body with environmental protection (seal for water resistance), shutter durability of 150k cycles

My precious, we must have it, yessss, my preciiiiiiioussss~~

Video recording is not really what I look for in a SLR but don't mind having that. Canon included the creative auto exposure (AE) irks me though, why oh why? Creative AE at this SLR level? Just gimme manual, shutter priority and aperture priority really! Okay, maybe program AE too.

Anyway...

I waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant~~!

There is this teeny weeny little problem though... body only it costs USD2700, with the EF 24-105 L series lens it costs USD3500.

So... anyone want to sponsor ah? =)

No? No one? Oh come on! It will only be out in November, just nice for my birthday *hint hint*. =P

Still no?

Oh well. =(
Let's see, what are my options...
  • Too chicken to rob a bank, so that's a no go.
  • I wonder if my colour printer is good enough to print money?
  • Wife probably won't agree to selling my seed since it's capable of producing such lovely baby.
  • Can't sell blood either, anaemic.

Hmm... do I really need my left kidney?

Brain: Male versus Female

From the creative mind of MunY came this image of the female brain!

A masterpiece I tell you. =)

image shamelessly stolen from this entry of MunY's.
No lar, I asked permission liao one lar =P

Ladies, please direct your wrath to MunY, okay? and any credit to me, hehehe

After getting a good chuckle out of MunY's funny entry, a light bulb went on in my otherwise dark and rusty brain:

What about a male brain?

What indeed? Hmm...

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present you... another caption game! =D

shamelessly modified from MunY's masterpiece

Come on people, show me what you think is in a male brain! =P

Personally I think the male brain is simpler, doesn't have so many different bits one, so I think A to E are probably enough, but if you think otherwise, fill in all 10 bits, or add more! =)
