Intentional and unintentional

Worked overtime yesterday (Saturday) for about three hours. That was intentional, a planned overtime.

New issue popped up while I am still working on two different projects, bandwidth is tight now. Wanted to give myself some buffer in the coming week, as I am going to take a half day leave to service the car, hence decided to get some work done yesterday.

The plan was to just work on Saturday and at least have a one day break on Sunday. Unfortunately I missed an important step when setting up one of the three thermal simulations to run yesterday, and I only realised it when I was washing the car this morning.

Funny how it just popped into my head when I was washing the car, a true "bollocks!" instance since I knew then I had to get it fixed today, else it defeats the whole buying myself some buffer next week initiative.

So I resigned to the unintentional overtime today, and since there are some downtime when meshing a model before I can set it to run, I ended up utilising the downtime post-processing one of the solved cases from yesterday, and set a new one to run after that.

So there is a net gain of one extra case compared to the initial plan, but I ended up working overtime on both Saturday and Sunday.

Oh well.
