Made a new cardboard building for hamster Cocoa a few weekends ago.
It's primarily a staircase linking both containers with ample space at the top landing area. A mean for Cocoa to go from one container to another.
Also has a two storey house and a triangular-shaped structure on the top landing space. Our hamster is living in luxury, hehe.
Because of the shape, we called the triangular-shaped building the chapel. Dark and cosy, it's one of Cocoa's current favourite places to sleep in.
Elder son pronounces it as "sha-pell", just because he likes to. Think it's fancy pronunciation or something.
Hamster owner will know how much poop a hamster can produce, and given that hamsters don't have much control over when they poop, so it's basically poop everywhere especially where they sleep.
I was commenting on the amount of poop around the chapel today and when I asked the children if it's difficult to clean the chapel (a hint to tell them they are not cleaning up the hamster containers which they feigned ignorance, of course), the elder son said it's "sha-pell".
And that's when wifey said no, it's 'shiteaven' (shit-heaven), reminding us to pronounce it properly, with the silent 'h' so it sounds high class. Said if we pronounce it shit-heaven, then it will be low.
Yes, we all laughed. =D
