How I spent my Valentine's Day

Reluctantly woke up late morning.

No, that's not the right word, let me rephrase.

Reluctantly got out of bed late morning. I woke up at some ungodly hour in the night and sleep had been sporadic after that. Bollocks.

Remained zombie-like until lunch.

Helped wifey on crab stick frying after lunch. I peeled she fried. We made many.

Wifey said crab stick frying is the easiest of all the Chinese New Year snacks she is making this year. The rest are baked stuff like almond crunches, peanut cookies, butter cookies, chocolate cookies, et cetera.

Baking is more work, she said.

Posted a blog after reading those fathers' Facebook posts on spending Valentine's with their daughter. Jealous die me (really jealous).

Decided to go out after dinner. Wifey had mentioned wanting to take photographs of the lantern decoration at Paragon, and I wanted to get the fourth book of the Boy Soldier series.

Took photos of the lanterns outside Paragon, then we headed in to check out their Chinese New Year decoration.

Donated to the flood victims at the entrance. We let the kids put in the money and explained what's the cause to them. Hopefully they will grow up to be caring persons who help others in need. Within their capability, of course.

More lanterns inside Paragon, took a few more photos and we headed to Gurney Plaza.

Wifey remarked that there seemed to be a lot more people, all nicely dressed and with makeup. The Valentine's Day believers.

The kids asked why there were people selling roses? I explained it's Valentine's Day, and of course I had to explain what is Valentine's Day after that.

"It's a day where we celebrate love and romance, but I think it's over-commercialised now." That's what I said.

Both Popular and MPH didn't have the book I am looking for. Out of stock, the staff said. Guess I will have to go check again when I finish reading the current one.

We then headed home, walking along the beach as the kids wanted to look at the sea. Ended up they were more interested in spotting the rats. Oh well.

After the kids went to bed I spent the night playing computer game.

That's my Valentine's Day.
