What a week...

Monday, came home early as wifey said Hsiang threw up a few times and doctor suspected food poisoning or appendicitis. Figured she could use the help handling Young while she took care of Hsiang.

Then Hsiang got worse and we decided to see a specialist. The first hospital we went to, wasted two and a half hours before telling us there was no room to admit Hsiang, and they would do the blood test only if Hsiang was admitted.

Thanks for nothing.

So we headed to a second hospital, emergency ward since by then it's already pretty late. Admitted for an operation to remove the appendix on Tuesday morning, which went well, thank goodness.

Took a day off on Tuesday and worked from home on Wednesday for all the chauffeuring, house chores and taking care of Young, who was on his best behaviour and took all these like a champion. So proud of him.

Back to office on Thursday after the few days of rushing around in a worried state, thinking that things would finally settle down to normal, with Hsiang recovering at home while I go back to my normal routine.

A casual comment at the end of the meeting before lunch triggered a chain of event that ended up in my frantic scrambling to get myself ready to go on a business trip next week.

What we said carries so little weight, while what our oversea counterpart said carries so much. What a sad situation we are in...

Anyway, the decision was made in record time instead of the usual drawn out back and forth justification and counter justification, and the company travel agent proved their efficiency getting my travel booked on Friday morning and ticket issued in the afternoon.

I spent Friday night and Saturday morning completing all the necessary trainings in order to apply for all the accesses I will need while over there.

To be honest my head is still in a buzz and all these have not really sunk in. I still have much to prepare for the trip and I don't have much time.

What a week...
